    Born 1866; with George S. Hutchings firm of Massachusetts; with Plaisted & Co. of California* partner with Henry C. Fletcher in Fletcher & Harris of Los Angeles, California, 1895; partner with George L. Maxfield in Maxfield & Harris of Los Angeles, California, 1897-1898; operated Murray M. Harris Organ Co. in Los Angeles, California, 1898-1903, succeeded by Los Angeles Art Organ Co.; investment broker, 1905-1906; resumed firm c. 1907-c. 1912; with Southern Music Co., 1913, salesman; broker, 1914; died 1922 during trip in Arizona.

    *Mark Plaisted moved to California circa 1888, after leaving Hutchings, Plaisted & Co., but we have no record of his building organs in California. According to Elmer Wallace Holmes (A History of Riverside County, California (Riverside County, CA: Historic Record Company, 1912), he designed and built his own home there, and became a small real estate developer. –Ed.
