Holtkamp, brother of Ferdinand and Mary Holtkamp, father of Walter Holtkamp, Jr.; in W. W. I; with father's firm of Votteler, Holtkamp, Sparling firm of Cleveland, OH, 1931, manager; with successor Holtkamp Organ Co. of Cleveland, OH, 1951; died 11 Feb. 1962 in Cleveland, OH, age 67.
  • Arguably one of the most important visionary builders of the mid-twentieth century; leading actor in the post-orchestral organ reform movement in the USA.
