  • From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North America Organ Builders by David H. Fox (Organ Historical Society, 1991). --

    Partnership of Ernest M. Skinner and his son Richmond Skinner from 1936 to 1949 in Methuen, then Reading MA. It was the last true venture in organ building for the 70-year old Skinner, he sold the firm and rights to the name to his foreman, Carl Basset, in 1949. The then 83 year-old Skinner took a position as 'advisor' to the Schantz Organ Co., his last official job. His son, Richmond left the organ business altogether and operated an airline.

  • The firm was succeeded by E.M. Skinner Co., operated by Carl Basset, foreman for Skinner under several company names.
