Technical Details

Slider chests with EP pallets (Blackinton type).

Two manuals. 3 divisions. 31 stops. 16 ranks. 983 pipes. Manual compass is 61 notes. Pedal compass is 32 notes.

The organ is in a gallery-level case at the rear of the room.

Combination Action: Computerized/Digital system. Crescendo Pedal. Combination action thumb pistons.

Notes

  • The organ was originally installed in 1915 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan. That church closed in 2007, and the organ was placed in storage. (Database Manager. August 24, 2011)
  • The instrument was completely rebuilt by R. T. Swanson, Inc. and installed in Zion in 2009. The organ was also enlarged to 16 ranks, and chimes were added from a different inner city Detroit church. The organ was donated to Zion by Mrs. Leona Hall and John and Daune Martis in memory of Franklin Hall. (Chad Boorsma. October 11, 2011)
