Technical Details

Slider chests. Mechanical action with pneumatic assist [Barker levers or some similar device]. Mechanical stop action.

Three manuals. 4 divisions. 38 stops. 44 ranks. Manual compass is 58 notes. Pedal compass is 27 notes.

The organ is in a gallery-level case at the rear of the room.

Combination action thumb pistons.

  • Cost $7000. Has Barker action in the Great. On Hook list as 3-48. (OHS PC Database. October 30, 2004)
  • Restored 1972 by Hartman-Beaty, no revoicing. (OHS PC Database. October 30, 2004)
  • Recording by Bruce Stevens, 2005. (James Cook. May 31, 2005)
  • Updated through online information from John Igoe. -- While the swell and choir are straight tracker, the great and any great couplers (swell-to-great, choir-to-great, great unison off) work through the Barker machine, and they are controlled by large thumb pistons above the great. The lower keyboard is labeled as "SOLO" even though it is more functionally a "choir" division. (Database Manager. March 31, 2008)
  • Updated through online information from John Igoe. -- While the organ was renovated, every attempt was to made to retain all original materials and mechanicals --minimal revoicing was done. The organ is superbly maintained and has been played several times a week every day since 1879. (Database Manager. February 10, 2012)
