John Allen Farmer was born January 4, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He apprenticed at Noack Organ Co. of Georgetown, Massachusetts, 1970-1976; with Bozeman-Gibson firm of Deerfield, New Hampshire, 1976-1978; with John Brombaugh & Associates of Eugene, Oregon, 1978-1979; he established J. Allen Farmer, Inc., in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1979.
