*This is an odd reference. If the person's name appeared on the company letterhead, it would be a safe assumption that the person was an officer of the company. The company letterhead would have normally also provided a first name or initial(s) and a title.
The 1910 and 1920 U.S. Census records show a Joseph Theodore Forton (born 1883) living in North Tonowanda. As the only adult male with that last name in Niagra County, he appears to be the most likely person. -Ed.
