Born 1836 in Weston, Massachusetts; brother-in-law of Arthur L. Coburn; with E. & G. G. Hook of Boston, Massachusetts, 1855, draftsman; partner, 1865; firm renamed E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings, 1871; head of firm, 1881; relocated firm to Kendal Green, Massachusetts, 1885; firm renamed Hook & Hastings, 1881; died February 23, 1916 in Kendal Green, Massachusetts.

  • Patent #578,925; March 16, 1897; electropneumatic action. (jointly with F. J. Flaherty)
