Born 1908; in Dixon, Illinois; built first organ, 1929; sold oil burners; established H. A. Howell Pipe Organs of Dixon, Illinois, after World War II, organs, electric blowers; firm sold to Curt Schmidt, c. 1980s; firm active 1989.
