David M. McCain was born April, 23 1942 in Harvey, Illinois; he is a graduate of Drake University, 1964. He began doing reed organ work from 1962; he was with Robert L. David of Chicago, Illinois, 1970-1978. He established his own firm in Orlando, Florida, 1983; partnered with Paul R. Dickinson in Orlando, Florida, c. 1989. He started with Proscia and Associates firm of Bowen, Georgia, 1983, becoming tonal director and business manager; he was active with the firm at least until 1994.
