Gerard Wendover Pilcher was born 1899 in Louisville, Kentucky; he was the son of William Edward Pilcher Sr.1; grandson of Henry [II] and great-grandson of Henry Sr who brought the family from England in 1832.

Gerard was a graduate of Purdue University; he worked in the family firm Henry Pilcher's Sons2 of Louisville, Kentucky, as secretary-treasurer3, 1925; he died January 3, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky.

NOTES:

  1. William E. was the Grandson of Henry Pilcher (first generation in US), and son of Henry Pilcher Jr. (2nd generation, one of his sons was also known as Henry Pilcher Jr.); Gerard is 4th generation.
  2. Henry Pilcher & Sons (1874-84)/ Henry Pilcher's Sons (1884-1944)
  3. The firm was incorporated that year.
