Pieter Visser was a charter member of the American Institute of Organ Builders (AIO), in 1973; he was also later a board member, Education Chairman, and the Examination Board Chairman.
Visser was a member of APOBA (American Pipe Organ Builders Association), and served at least one term as President.
He was on the faculty of Rice University in Houston, Texas, as a adjunct Lecturer in Music from 1975.
