Born February 2, 1856 in San Francisco, California; died 1931; father of Charles and (Ralph?) Whalley.

Active in Oakland, California, by c. 1887; briefly partner with George N. Andrews, 1888; briefly partner in Whalley & Genung of Oakland, California, c. 1889; active in Berkeley, California, 1892-1905; partner with Edwin A. Spencer in Berkeley, California, 1905-1906; partner with his son, Ralph, in Berkeley, California.
