From The Brantford Daily Expositor (December 11, 1882): "The case is black walnut, finely polished and finished in oil. The pipes in front, all of which are voiced and in use, are beautifully ornamented in quiet shades, and silver, gold and scarlet, giving a wonderfully fine appearance under gas-light."
