From The Kingston Daily News (February 6, 1890): "The first practice of the choir, accompanied by the organ, took place on Tuesday evening and was very satisfactory. Some of the choristers had considerable difficulty getting to the church owing to the extreme slipperiness of the streets. Mr. Holland the organ builder, having finished his work. He wished to be present at the first practice, but "got left," locomotion, owing to the ice, being so difficult."
