Database Manager on September 27, 2012:

Updated through online information from T. Daniel Hancock. -- Owen, 1979, notes that this organ was originally installed in the First Unitarian Church, of Springfield, Massachusetts, and was relocated here in 1868, where it was modified as follows: a pedalboard and bass pipes added; swell box added; and manual compass shortened from G to C compass. Owen suggests in her text that probably no tonal alterations were made to this instrument.
