\r\nThis has been an ongoing project, so a single date is not appropriate. I have been involved with this instrument since about 1984
This is a new home for an organ that was altered when it was moved from another location.
Identified by Richard Schneider, the builder. Additionally, Richard Schneider listed this individual as a source of information: Richard Schneider.
This has been an ongoing project involving the original Hinners organ from St. John's Lutheran Church in Royal, Illinois, which was relocated by Bob Hofswell from the University to a Catholic Church in Urbana when the former church sold the organ in advance of the installation of the 1976 Wicks organ currently there. The organ proved unsuccessful in the (unknown) Catholic church and was removed to storage to a barn in Mahomet, Illinois, by Bob Hofswell, who was contacted by Ed Legner in the 1980s and purchased and moved the organ to his basement. The console was incorporated into the organ at St. Paul's Catholic Church of Odell, Illinois, which was also restored to playing condition by Mr. Legner (OHS Database entry to follow) A replacement console was purchased from Schneider Pipe Organs, Inc, and a joint project with Mr. Legner has been ongoing since that time. Most recent work completed in July, 2018 includes a new Matters control system for the organ, new Laukhuff pallet pulldown magnets and slider motors and the acquisition and installation of an 8' Capped Oboe and construction of new custom windchests for this stop.
