SPECIFICATION OF THE CATHEDRAL ORGAN The organ is situated in an elevated organ chamber in the angle between the quire and north transept, and incorporates pipework from previous instruments by Walker, Norman & Beard and Nicholson. It speaks primarily to the West, but is also designed to accompany services in the Quire. Two highly decorative organ cases, with mainly speaking pipes, face into the North Transept and Quire. The console is situated in a gallery above the Quire, underneath the South case.
