Andrew Henderson on February 15, 2023:

According to The Ottawa Journal (September 19, 1894): "It is being made up of the old organ with a large addition of pipes and the installation of all the latest improvements and appliances. In all there are 1,900 pipes. There will be three rows of keys instead of two as formerly. The organ is to be operated entirely by electricity. Water-power has been used heretofore. Changes are being made in the choir gallery so that the organist will sit at the front, his back to the body of the church, and will be able to direct the entire choir seated on either side of him in three ascending rows of seats. There will be accommodation for 35 singers. The organ will be heard for the first time Sunday week at the re-opening. Sunday week, by the way, will also be sacrament Sunday." It was later reported that the inaugural recital was performed on November 27, 1894 by Mr. S. P. Warren.
