Database Manager on May 07, 2018:

When the Second Church of Christ, Scientist, opened this impressive fane on Easter 1916, the $10,000 organ was not yet finished. Construction on the building had been started in 1 910; the First Church, established in 1885, and occupying a large building since 1 902, was overflowing. Second Church, which seats over 1,200, was sold to the Baha'is of Denver in 1 996. The Baha'i faith, dedicated to the establishment of peace throughout the world, was founded in Persia in 1844. It "is an independent world religion. It has no clergy or priesthood. A basic principle is the right and duty of each individual to investigate truth independently and to be responsible for his or her own spiritual development." -- 1998 OHS Handbook
