NOTES
At the time of documenting this organ in September, 1991, this was one
of only two church pipe organs in town. The other was a 1929 Reuter
(rebuilt in 1989) in the United Methodist Church. And, it is one of
four total pipe organs in Ashland – the other two being located at
Southern Oregon State University. Ashland had one other known pipe
organ in its history. It was a 2-manual, 4-rank Robert Morton theatre
organ installed in the Vining Theatre. That was later removed by
Balcom and Vaughan of Seattle and re-installed in a Seventh-day
Adventist Church in Spokane, WA.

The organ is free-standing and encased in an oak case. The facade is
5-sectional containing 39 pipes of the Hauptwerk 4' Principal arranged:
5 - 11 - 7 - 11 – 5. The keydesk is attached and projecting, and without
a cover. The drawknobs are in vertical rows on flat jambs to either
side of the manuals. The Brustwerk is enclosed with hinged doors con-
taining carved panels.
