NOTES
This was a free-standing, encased “Artiste” organ with a detached console. The first 24 pipes of
the Gedeckt unit are of capped metal. The first 12 notes of the 8' Diapason are borrowed from the
8' Gedeckt and 8' Viola. The balance is from the 4' Octave.
In December, 1995, First Lutheran Church was given a used, 3-rank pipe organ originally built by
Balcom and Vaughan for Hull and Hull Funeral Home in Grants Pass, OR. Organist Walt Weaver and
parishioner Carl Swanson, who is an electrical engineer, along with volunteers, spent most of
1996 combining the two pipe organs into one instrument. A new Peterson solid state, Multiplex
relay was added.
