NOTES
This is the congregation's second pipe organ. Their first instrument was a used,
II-manual, 6-rank Wicks built in 1957 as that firm's opus 3749 for the Jence F.
Thompson residence of Arlington. It was installed in the building on 4th Street
in 1969 by Wicks representative Charles W. Allen of Seattle. When the congregation
built and moved to their new [present] edifice, the old building with the organ was
sold to Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
The new Wicks is installed in an elevated chamber on the front wall just to the left
of center. The console sits directly beneath the shutter opening with the organist
facing the congregation. The Mixture is derived from the Rohr Flute and the Gemshorn.
The unison pitches are from the Rohr Flute unit, and the quint pitches are from the
Gemshorn unit. The Tremolo affects the entire organ.
The drawknob console is of oak, and the finger pistons are faced in wood. The wind
pressure is 4". This organ was designed and installed by Charles W. Allen, and it was
his last installation.
The organ was dedicated in recital on April 24, 1994 by Phyllis Mains.
