NOTES
The cornerstone for the present edifice was laid in 1919 - the same year the contract
with Skinner was signed. The dedication Service was held on Sunday, April 11, 1920,
and the Skinner is believed to have been installed in time for the dedication. Addi-
tions were made to the organ in both 1946 (Chimes) and 1949 (8' Aeoline). Who made
the additions is not presently known.
The Balcom and Vaughan work consisted of refurbishing of the Skinner along with tonal
additions – increasing the size of the organ to 25 ranks. However, two original Skinner
ranks were removed and are in storage: on the Great, the 8' Melodia; and on the Swell,
the 8' Vox Humana. The Great 8' Open Diapason has leathered upper lips. The console
shell is original, but converted from drawknob jambs to a stopkey stoprail.
