NOTES:
The original 1927 W.W. Kimball Co. organ was a IV-manual, 41-rank instrument. Stops
marked with a (K) in the preceding stoplist are retained from the original organ.
The Balcom and Vaughan instrument was essentially a new instrument retaining 17 ranks
from the 1927 Kimball. Most of the windchests were new, and the console was new. Most
of the regulators are new, the exception being the Echo division.
On the Great, the 8' Principal, 8' Rohrflöte, 4' Octave, 2' Principal, IV Mixture, and
8' Trumpet are all on a slider chest of early Fisk design utilizing a floating pneumatic
pallet valve operated by an E-P primary. The Quintaten is on a Kilgen-style E-P unit
chest. The 8' Gemshorn is on its original Kimball chest.
On the Positiv, the 8' Bordun, 4', 2' 1-1/3', and 1' are new and are on an E-P slider
chest. The 8' Krummhorn is also new, but is on a Kilgen-style E-P unit chest. The 8'
Dulciana, 8' Unda Maris, and 8' English Horn are in the Swell chamber and on E-P unit
chests.
On the Swell, the 8' Diapason, 8' Gedeckt, 8' Salicional, 8' Voix Celeste, 8' Clarinet,
and 8' Oboe are all on an original Kimball E-P pitman chest. The 8' Diapason was origi-
nally located in the Echo and was relocated to the Swell in the rebuild. The 16' Gedeckt
extension, bass of the 8' Diapason, and 16' Fagotto extension are also on their original
Kimball offset chests. The remaining pipework is all new and stands on Kilgen-style E-P
unit chests.
On the Echo, all ranks are Kimball and the chest is original. The chimes are on their
original Kimball E-P action, but the dampers have been removed.
On the Pedal, the 16' Diapason is in the Great chamber and on its original Kimball chests.
The 16' Gamba is on its original Kimball chests. The 16' Subbass and 16' Posaune are on
Kilgen-style E-P unit chests. And the 8' Octave, 4' Choral Bass, 4' Nachthorn, and III
Mixture are on an E-P slider chest.
On all divisions where the slider chests are used, the pipes are encased atop the slider
chest by a reflective enclosure.
The main blower is in the basement and has an original Kimball static regulator immediately
overhead. This was re-leathered in 2011 by Rose City Organ Builders, Inc. of Portland, Oregon.
The Echo division has its own blower in a sound-proof room beside the pipe chamber.
In 1997 the Echo expression pneumatic motors and primary were releathered by Stettner and
Larson Pipe Organs of Seattle/Spokane when many of them ruptured during the recording of
a compact disc by Artist-in-Residence David G. Di Fiore and the Auburn Symphony Orchestra.
The relay was a new Peterson solid state relay when installed during the rebuild and enlarge-
ment. The Peterson solid state combination action was added ca. 1991 when the remote Wicks
combination action installed in 1959 began to fail.
The new pipework was ordered from Jacques Stinkens in Zeist, Holland.
The organ has since been enlarged to 54 ranks.
