NOTES
The organ is mostly installed in one chamber at the back of the church on the
central axis. The Great Open Diapason unit is unenclosed and exposed in front
of the pipe chamber.
The pipework is partly used from the Kimball located at the Episcopal Cathedral
in Spokane, WA. The console and rectifier are new. The cost of the organ was
$6,802.00 plus applicable sales tax. It was dedicated on January 22, 1961 at
7:07 p.m. by Eugene M. Nye, organist at First Church of Christ Scientist in
Seattle.
The Great 2' Principal was added by Glenn White after the original installation
and is a cut-down string. It has since been replaced by organist Jim Brumbaugh
with the 2' Fifteenth from the Columbia Congregational organ.
In 199_, Columbia Congregational sold their church on Ferdinand to a Baptist congregation and merged with Lakewood Community Church (Church of the Brethren)
at Lakewood's facility. Columbia's pipe organ was removed under the direction
of Lakewood's former pastor and then organist Jim Brumbaugh along with church
volunteers. The combined congregations became known as Columbia Lakewood Comm-
unity Church. Future plans include combining the two instruments into one.
