NOTES
This organ was originally installed for the Robert Morton Organ Co. by Balcom and
Vaughan of Seattle, Washington. A Robert Morton metal tag on the back of the Vox
Humana windchest lists the organ as No. 2552. In the Organ Model section is prin-
ted 'Spec'. Written by hand beside the Robert Morton Co. tag is says, “May 12--
'30 E.L. Vaughan John McCartney.” Beneath that is written “Additions Mar 3,
'33.”
The Great Robert Morton V'Oleon and the 37-note 4' harp celeste were the additions
made in 1933. Balcom and Vaughan must have had Morton provide the stop tablets and
engraving because they match exactly. It also appears as though Morton constructed
the additional switching for the V'Oleon and Harp. This was placed at the top of
the inner console over the key tail instead of behind the back panel like the rest
of the pneumatic stop switches.
The 8' Open Diapason toeboard does have 12 additional pipe holes at the treble end
of the chest whose rack holes have newer-looking boards nailed over them. These
were for the 4' Octave extension – whose stop was replaced by the added R.M.
V'Oleon. The 8' Vox Humana also has an octave of unused holes at the treble end
of its chest.
When either of the 16' Pedal stops is registered, it cancels the other one.
