NOTES
This is the congregation's second pipe organ, and the second pipe organ in this edifice.
The previous instrument was a II-manual, 5-rank Smith theatre organ originally built in
1924 for Seattle's Gala Theatre. It was moved here minus the percussion stops in the
1930's by Balcom and Vaughan. When the present Wicks was contracted in the 1950's, the
Smith was sold to Port Madison Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island.
The Wicks is installed in two, divided chambers on either side of the front of the
church. These chambers were added to the building specifically for the Wicks instal-
lation. The left chamber holds the Great, and the right chamber holds the Swell. The
drawknob console is located on the right side of the chancel with the organist facing
across the chancel with the organ to the right, and the congregation to the left.
The relay for the organ is located under the Great division, and the blower and remote
combination action are located under the Swell division.
