Technical Details

Electro-pneumatic (EP) chests.

Four manuals. 9 divisions. 126 stops. 110 registers. 169 ranks. 9050 pipes. Manual compass is 61 notes. Pedal compass is 32 notes.

The organ is in side chambers at the front of the room, with visible façade pipes or case front.

  • The original builder was Skinner Organ Co. (1913, Opus 205). (OHS PC Database. October 30, 2004)
  • Chancel organ. Revision and enlargement of 1913 E. M. Skinner organ. Last organ voiced by G. Donald Harrison. (Also Op. 205-B). Additional tonal work by Gilbert F. Adams in 1969. (OHS PC Database. October 30, 2004)
  • Updated through information adapted from E. M. Skinner/Aeolian-Skinner Opus List, by Sand Lawn and Allen Kinzey (Organ Historical Society, 1997), and included here through the kind permission of Sand Lawn:
    Rebuild (both #205-A and #205-B) of E. M. Skinner Opus 205, previously altered by Skinner & Son and rebuilt by Möller, with new console using existing shell; dedicatory recital by William Self, November 19, 1956. (Database Manager. December 20, 2005)
  • Updated through online information from Sam Cherubin. -- The V-IX Tierce Mixture in the Grand Choeur (IVth) is the same composition as the one found in the floating Bombarde division at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine (Opus 150-A). (Database Manager. July 17, 2013)

    Current organ has been removed from the chancel and is getting replaced and renovated by Dobson Organs. New chancel case and divisions to be installed after Easter 2017. Very few stops from current Aeolian-Skinner will be reused. (Database Manager. August 28, 2016)
