John M. Crum was a chorister in York, Pennsylvania, 1933-1946; he attended Westminster College of Princeton, New Jersey. Ordained as an Episcopal priest; he studied organbuilding in New Jersey during the mid-1960s, and built his first organ in 1979. He established Crum Pipe Organs of Cobleskill, New York; the firm was active in 1985.
