Born April 19, 1899 in Shrewsbury, Vermont; in Rutland, Vermont as a child; with Estey Organ Co. of Brattleboro, Vermont, 1917-1956, head voicer, 20 years, superintendent of production, 7 years; operated firm after liquidation of Estey, c. 1950s; partner with John Wessel in Hewitt & Wessel of Brattleboro, Vermont, 1954-1966; died December 5, 1966 in Brattleboro, Vermont.
