Holtkamp, brother of Ferdinand and Mary Holtkamp, father of Walter Holtkamp, Jr.; in World War I; with father's firm of Votteler, Holtkamp, Sparling of Cleveland, Ohio, 1931, manager; with successor Holtkamp Organ Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, 1951; died February 11, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio, age 67.
Arguably one of the most important visionary builders of the mid-twentieth century; leading actor in the post-orchestral organ reform movement in the USA.
