Richard Howell established his firm in 1981 in Baltimore, and moved to Lynchburg (Virginia) in March, 1998, with the move into the present location in Lynchburg in April, 1999.  He originally did business under the name Richard Howell Organ Builder and changed to Richard Howell & Co. (but remaining a sole proprietorship) in September 1988. 

Mr. Howell builds mechanical key action (tracker) organs. He also rebuilds and restores old tracker instruments.
