Born 1838; son of George Krauss; with the family firm of Palm, Pennsylvania; died March 18, 1929 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.

Edwin was the fourth generation of organbuilders in the Krauss family, his great-grandfather, Baltzer built the first organ in the 1770s with the help of his sons, John and Andrew. Andrew was Edwin's grandfather. —Ed.
