Frederick L. Beal is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. He was an organ performance major at the University of Tennessee, and also studied at the Royal School of Church Music, then in Croydon, United Kingdom. He holds the Service Certificate from the American Institute of Organbuilders (AIO).
His professional career in organ building began with the Berghaus Organ Company of Bellwood, Illinois in 1983 where he was the Service Manager. In 2001, he moved to a similar position at Bond Organbuilders in Portland, Oregon where he is still employed [September, 2016].
Mr. Beal is a member of the American Institute of Organbuilders; he has served on committees and as a board member of the AIO. He was previously a board member of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Organ Historical Society.
