From the OHS PC Database, derived from A Guide to North American Organbuilders, by David H. Fox (Richmond, Va.: Organ Historical Society, 1991). —

Son of Johann G. Pfeffer, brother of Anthony, Eugene, and Robert Pfeffer; established George J. Pfeffer & Son* of St. Louis, Missouri, by 1885; with family firm [J.G. Pfeffer & Son] in St. Louis, Missouri, 1885-1889; in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 1889.

*It is odd that a second Pfeffer firm was started by Johann's son George three years after the establishment of his father's firm, with both of them operating concurrently in St Louis. There may be confusion of the names of the firm(s). —Ed.
