Born January 7, 1808 in Norway, Maine; brother of George Stevens; with William Goodrich in Boston, Massachusetts; with his brother in partnership of Stevens & Gayetty of East Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1830s-c. 1852; partner in Stevens & Co. of Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1852; with successor Stevens, Davis & Jewett, 1853-1854; partner with James Jewett in Stevens & Jewett of Boston, Massachusetts, 1854-1862; operated his own firm, 1862-1872; died 1896.
