Charles Aitken was born March 27, 1932 in London, he lived through World War II and the Bliz in Ruislip, West London. After school and the Royal Air Force he joined James Walker Ltd. of London, worked on many organs throughout Great Britain;¹ he came to the U.S. in 1963, and worked for the Austin Organ Company, where he specialized in restoring and repairing. He established his own firm in Granby, Connecticut, 1973; relocating to Harwinton, Connecticut, c. 1983.² He died suddenly at home in Canton, Connecticut on Friday, March 25, 2011.
