From the company website, submitted by Jeff Scofield. -- In 1891, Léon Verschueren founded an organ building workshop in Heythuysen. The business was particularly active outside the Netherlands in the years following the Second World War. From c1970, important experience began to be gained in the restoration of historic organs. This knowledge also proved important in creating new, historically orientated, instruments, a field in which the company has also distinguished itself on the international stage. The workshop was led by three successive generations of the Verschueren family. In November 2010, ownership passed to the Verschueren Orgelbouw Foundation and Johan Zoutendijk was appointed statutory director. In October, 2015 the workshop moved from Heythuysen to Ittervoort. The title ‘Royal Supplier’, awarded to the company on its 100th anniversary, was made permanent on the occasion of its 125th anniversary.
