George W. Reed continued working assisted by his son Earle W. Reed doing business as "Geo. W. Reed & Son" of West Boyleston, Massachusetts. The business operated from the 1880s until 1915 when the senior Reed died. After his father died, Earle W. Reed continued under his own name, although he stopped building tracker action instruments, switching to electro-pneumatic windchests.
