The original entry appears to be incorrect. Carl Bassett (foreman with Ernest M. Skinner & Son) purchased the rights to the Skinner name and operated as the Ernest M. Skinner Organ Co. in Oakland, Florida from 1959 to circa 1976.

After his retirement in the mid 1970s, Bassett sold the business to John Bolten and moved to Land of Lakes, Florida (north of Tampa) and later to Leesburg, Florida in the middle of the state. According to the Rev. Carl Bassett Jr., his father's only business location in Florida was in Oakland, and Bolten immediately moved the business back to the Boston area after the purchase. The only possible connection to Lake City would have been any service firm that represented Bolten in Florida during the 1970s. Even this seems unlikely as Bassett did all of his own service work in Florida and Georgia for the installations during that period, and continued to do so after the sale of the company while his health permitted. Mr. Bassett died from pancreatic cancer in 1978 but worked up until a few months before his death.
