From a series of E-mails from Rev. Carl Bassett, son of Carl G. Bassett, received between December 27, 2015 and January 4, 2016. --

Carl Bassett purchased the company and rights to the name from Ernest M. Skinner in 1949. He operated the company in Reading MA for ten years, then moved it to Oakland Florida (near Orlando) in 1959. He remained in Oakland until he sold the company in 1976 to John Bolton. Bolton moved the company to Boston and never operated in Florida.

After his retirement, Basset moved to Land of Lakes, Florida (north of Tampa) and later to Leesburg, FL in the middle of the state. According to the Rev. Carl Bassett Jr., his father's only business location in Florida was in Oakland, and Bolton immediately moved the business back to the Boston area after the purchase. The only possible connection to Lake Wales would have been any service firm that represented Bolton in Florida during the 1970s. Bassett did all of his own service work in Florida and Georgia for the installations during that period, and continued to do so after the sale of the company while his health permitted. Mr. Bassett died from pancreatic cancer in 1978 but worked up until a few months before his death.
