William Andrew Brys was born in Meriden, Connecticut, on October 15, 1938. He was the music director at Charlestown, New Hampshire, High School from 1961 to 1964 and then at Bellows Falls, New Hampshire, Union High School for 22 years. From 1983 on, he was self-employed as an organbuilder, residing in Charlestown and traveling throughout the northeastern United States. He died on April 18, 2004, in Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, New Hampshire.
