Jeff Scofield on April 22nd, 2021:

The Austin was installed as a 4-manual of 50 registers; Covenant and First Presbyterian merged in 1933.

Database Manager on November 29th, 2015:

Updated through online information from Don Hurd. -- Church celebrated the 100th birthday of the organ November 15, 2015. Console located in the balcony, pipes behind the front platform, far away. Rebuilt following a fire in the 1960's by Charles Hildreth. Balcony echo organ removed at that time too?

Console was originally on the main floor platform with a curtain around it. Beautiful case façade from previous Koehnken & Grimm organ? Extra pipes stored in the basement. Hildreth installed a setter-board in a cabinet behind the balcony console. This has been removed and updated. Chimes are in front of echo shutters.

Database Manager on October 30th, 2004:

"Organ repaired after water damage during a fire in 1960. Updated and rededicated in 1947. Listed in the Austin Opus list as Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. Church formed in 1909 from merger of 2nd Presbyterian, 5th Presbyterian and Central Presbyterian."
