Paul R. Marchesano on February 2nd, 2022:
"Research thus far has not revealed when the Spence organ was moved to Litchfield. A plaque on the instrument indicates only that it was presented "In Memory of William Spence." " -- *1994 OHS Handbook*

Paul R. Marchesano on February 2nd, 2022:
The casework of the organ is of solid mahogany, and boasts handsome carvings. Although the instrument is how in an alcove, it was clearly free-standing in the Spence residence. The organ fortunately did not suffer serious damage in the 1981 fire, but did require a complete cleaning, and restencilling of the front pipes. The pedal division, tubular pneumatic at one time, has in recent years been fitted with electric action. The Dulciana 8' originally had 58 pipes, but at some time notes 1-7 were grooved to the Melodia. The Salicional 8'. -- *1994 OHS Handbook*
