The 1878 Hook & Hastings organ replaced a one manual organ built by John Wind c. 1818. Pomplitz, of Baltimore is reported to have added a 2nd (Swell) manual division at a later date (Pomplitz emigrated to Baltimore 1849) The old Wind organ was rebuilt and placed into St. John's Episcopal, Lancaster when the Hook organ arrived.
Identified from company publications as edited and expanded in The Hook Opus List 1829-1935, ed. William T. Van Pelt (Organ Historical Society, 1991).
