Updated through online information from T. Bradford Willis: Central Methodist Church now occupies the former Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist edifice. https://centralhoustonmethodist.org/
Church closed and organ was removed in December 2020.
I helped remove this instrument when the Church closed in December
Updated through online information from Harry Spring: This original Pilcher is currently non playable, but apparently still complete with some wiring, tubular pneumatic offsets disconnected. Has large 49 note Deagan Vibra Harp/Celesta in probably restorable condition with vacuum actuated mechanism with its own 110v motor. Swell is on left side, Great on right side which also has set of 21 tubular chimes with pneumatic action. Has newer White blower and Durst rectifer. Now replaced with used Allen Renaissance organ with 13 large speaker systems located in both chambers and 'bunker' underneath stage area. Original Pilcher console in restorable condition in "swallows nest" balcony in rear specifically built for organ console. Most pipe work in good condition. 73 note Vox in Box on Swell side with 8' Cornopean, Salicional and Celeste. Great side has 16' Open Diapason with lowest notes on floor underneath chests. Swell shades on both sides open both into sanctuary and altar area with individual motors for each shade. Beautifully renovated sanctuary, bright and airy with very roomy seating and new carpeting throughout. A must see period room. I was involved in installing Allen organ the past couple of days (1/21 & 1/22/2016).
Identified through information in Vol VIII p. 172 of the Pilcher factory ledgers and a list of Pilcher organs typed by William E. Pilcher of Louisville. For more information see the document referenced below.
Original price: $4,775
