Paul R. Marchesano on February 21st, 2021:

On December 23, 1879, the building was destroye by fire. In May 1880 the cornerstone of the new brownstone building was laid. The consecration of the new church took place on Decmeber 26, 1881; reported cost of $40,000. St David's is responsible for the establishment of three parishes in the 21st ward: St. Alban's, St. Stephen's, St. Timothy's.

The Jardine organ cost $4000; the previous organ that had burned was valued at $2000.

In new building after an 1879 fire. Electrified by Bartholomay c. 1929 with tonal changes. Bartholomay console replaced with refurbished Austin console by Brantley Duddy. Renovated 1994 by Patrick J. Murphy with tonal restorations.
