**Database Manager on March 27, 2009:** Updated through on-line information from Art Aadland. -- The organ uses a fan frame and beam, first class lever "backfall" type mechanical action, designed and built partially out of solid Dutch Charlie black walnut that was harvested, cured and milled by Rev. A.O. Aadland and sons. It also includes three ranks of solid black walnut pipes, built by Rev. Aadland (also harvested from the local Dutch Charley woods area in the mid 1960s). -- Both manuals are 61 keys and 61 notes. The organ uses a 30 note concave radiating pedal board that was built by Rev Aadland when he was only 17 years old. Rev Aadland studied to become an organ builder from early childhood through three years at Augsburg, but was called into the ministry by a life changing experience.

On-line update from Art Aadland, received January 2008: -- My Father, Reverend A.O. Aadland, was the person who designed and built the Old Westbrook Lutheran Church pipe organ. I assisted him during my years in high school, from 1964 until 1968 and during the summers of 1969 and 1970.
