Updated through online information from Burton K. Tidwell. -- I was associate tonal director at Reuter when this instrument was built for Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Wichita, Kansas. The original 12-rank tonal design was by Wichita State University organ professor Robert W. Town; scaling was by the author; Franklin Mitchell was in charge of tonal finishing. The church closed in 1999 and the organ was purchased by Eastmoor Church and moved by Burton K. Tidwell. In its new location, all solid-state control systems were replaced, the console rebuilt, all stops revoiced, the mixture recomposed; and a new Principal 8 tenor c added (using the existing bass) to make the original Octave 4 independent. There are 7 registers enclosed as the Swell; 4 registers/6 ranks unenclosed. The pedal Subbass 16 manual extension from the Gt. Rohrflöte consists of 17 large-scale wooden pipes from Hyde Park's original late tubular pneumatic Hinners Organ.
Identified from the Reuter Opus List, provided by Chris Leaver, Reuter Organ Co., November, 2005.
